Suspect is believed to have robbed five banks in the past two months. He's revisited one bank on Thursday, the FBI said.
In the course of two months, the FBI in Minneapolis says a man has held up five banks in the metro area, including the same branch twice.
The latest heist took place Thursday, when a lone robber presented a threatening note demanding money to a teller about 7 p.m. at the TCF Bank at 2163 Ford Pkwy. in St. Paul. The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, said agent Paul McCabe.
Authorities believe the same culprit robbed that branch on April 4, the same day he is thought to have held up a Wells Fargo Bank on the 6400 block of Nicollet Avenue in Richfield. And they believe he also is responsible for robberies that took place March 6 at a Wells Fargo on Chicago Avenue in south Minneapolis and Feb. 29 at a Wells Fargo on Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
In Thursday's stickup, the robber was described as a white male with brown hair, a rough face and pale complexion. He is believed to be in his early 20s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches, has a thin build and weighs 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a maroon knit winter hat, dark-gray hooded sweat shirt, bluejeans, and brown shoes.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the robber's arrest and conviction. Anybody with information is asked to call the FBI at 612-376-3200.
