New charges are possible in dog-beheading case

A year after sending a dog's severed head to the home of a St. Paul teenager who had spurned his affections, Anthony Gomez may face trouble for new correspondence.

Gomez, 25, is accused of violating a no-contact order by allegedly sending a letter earlier this month to the residence where the victim lived.

Police spokesman Tom Walsh said that he could not say what was written, but that police are investigating.

In September, Gomez pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats in the earlier case, and he now is serving a sentence at the Ramsey County workhouse, from which the letter was sent, police said.

Walsh said new charges could potentially be pursued. Gomez is due for release at the end of May, he said.
