Macalester exchange student hit by SUV still critical

The French exchange student who was hit by an SUV in St. Paul on Wednesday remained in critical condition Saturday at Regions Hospital.

Cleo Louise Marie Thiberge, 19, had been in Minnesota less than a day when she was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross Hamline Avenue at Grand Avenue in or near the crosswalk, according to St. Paul police. She was pinned underneath the vehicle.

Thiberge had planned to attend Macalester College this fall. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police, according to police.
