St. Paul police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting death early Saturday morning.

Blaine Carter Christofferson, 39, of St. Paul, was shot about 2:30 a.m. outside the Cherry Pit bar at White Bear and Minnehaha Avenues, said police spokesman Tom Walsh. Christofferson died a short time later at Regions Hospital.

The victim and suspects apparently knew one another, Walsh said. He wouldn't comment on a motive.

The suspects were arrested shortly after the shooting and booked into the Ramsey County jail. Walsh said their names would be released Monday. Any charges would be filed by noon Tuesday.

It was St. Paul's third homicide this year.
