A driver died in St. Paul on Friday after running off the road and hitting a tree.
The accident happened about 9 p.m. on Hwy. 61 near Lower Afton Road in St. Paul's Battle Creek area. The driver of a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, traveling north, veered into the center median and over-corrected, swerving into a ditch and striking a tree, according to the State Patrol.
The driver, whose name hasn't been released, was the only one in the vehicle.
