St. Paul robber points a gun at infant

A man allegedly pointed a gun at an 11-month-old during a robbery Friday night in St. Paul.
Sgt. Paul Paulos, a police spokesman, said the suspect also is linked to two other robberies.
Two robberies, including the infant incident, occurred in the 1800 block of Magnolia Avenue E. A third occurred about a half-block away at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue E. and Hazel St. N.
In one incident, a man in his 40s, a woman in her 20s and the infant pulled up to an apartment complex when the suspect approached them. He pointed a gun at the infant and demanded money, according to police.
"That's some pretty drastic measures," Paulos said, adding that although the threat of harm was implied, the suspect did not verbally threaten to harm the child.
The suspect stole about $1,400. No one was injured in any of the incidents.
While police were on the scene of the robbery, a couple approached them and said they were robbed of $200 at gunpoint.
In the third case, the suspect approached two victims on a bicycle. He displayed a gun and fired two shots and robbed them of one can of beer, according to a police report.
The robberies occurred between about 11:40 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. Police believe they were random.
A police dog did not find a scent trail, Paulos said.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-feet tall, thin, wearing a gray or navy hoodie and possibly sporting a beard.
