More than 250,000 people are expected at Grand Old Day on Sunday for what organizers call the biggest one-day festival in the Midwest.
The annual celebration will begin at 7:45 a.m. with an inline skate, followed by an 8K and various other runs. The party will go until 6 p.m.
All events are on Grand Avenue between Fairview Avenue and Dale Street, and there is something for everyone.
Seven stages will provide music for children and adults, as well as other events, including a Nathan's hot-dog eating contest at 11 a.m. There also is a parade, an art district, a family fun district and a sporting district. Vendors will line the avenue.
The event is free, but admittance to live music festival gardens will cost $8, which is good for all stages.
Grand Old Day is put on by the Grand Avenue Business Association and has been its annual fundraiser since 1973.
