Woman leaps to death in St. Paul

Last update: December 11, 2007 - 9:16 PM

A woman jumped to her death into the Mississippi River off the St. Paul High Bridge Tuesday evening, police said.

Police said they received a call from the woman's boyfriend around 6 p.m. after he found a suicide note at home and discovered her empty car near the bridge.

Authorities recovered her body from beneath the bridge soon after.

Officials at the Ramsey County medical examiner's office said there was no reason to suspect foul play. The woman's name has not been released.
