A 19-year-old woman told St. Paul police that a man grabbed her buttocks while she was in a Macy's bathroom downtown, and authorities are turning to the public for help finding the suspect.

The woman said the incident occurred about 3:40 p.m. Sunday. She said she came out of a bathroom stall and immediately saw the man.

He grabbed her buttocks and asked her whether she wanted to leave with him, the woman said. She said she told him to leave her alone, but he tried to grab her again. The woman then left the bathroom.

The woman reported the encounter to a store employee, who called police.

The man is described as black, 22 to 30 years old, with a medium build and clean-shaven. He was wearing a black stocking cap, glasses and a black jacket over a blue and white striped polo shirt.

Police on Friday released Macy's surveillance photos of the man who may be the suspect.

Police say they also are trying to find a young teenage girl believed to have been in the restroom during or immediately after the incident.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact St. Paul police at 651-266-5676 or 651-291-1111.
