The father of a 14-year-old girl who gave crystal methamphetamine to six of her classmates at a St. Paul middle school last week has now been arrested for drug possession.
Tuesday's arrest stemmed from a search of the family's East Side home last week that uncovered about 2 grams of meth, police spokesman Tom Walsh said. The father hasn't been charged with a crime.
Investigators have yet to link the father's drugs with the meth that the girl brought to Hazel Park Middle School Academy on Oct. 2, Walsh added.
The daughter, who pleaded guilty last week to second-degree sale of a controlled substance, has not identified her father as the source, Walsh said.
Did the father know the girl had the drugs? "No," Walsh said.
Seven students were taken to hospitals after eating the meth at the school Oct. 2.
A police investigation is continuing.
