Woodworker Mark Johnston of Historic Design Consulting LLC will discuss traditional woodworking methods, historic tools and supplies in a session sponsored by the Scott County Historical Society on May 22.
Owners of older homes in particular may want to question Johnson about choosing millwork and selecting interior and exterior colors.
The 1 p.m. session will take place at the Stans House, 235 S. Fuller St., Shakopee. Cost is $10, or $8 for society members. For more information, call 952-445-0378.

The county launched Forever Wild Friends to raise money and volunteer support for projects within the parks. Members receive park discounts, invitations to special events, a tote bag, window clings and a T-shirt.

The event will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center and Schulze Lake Trailhead, 860 Cliff Road in Eagan. There will be guided walks along trails in the park, demonstrations of Nordic pole-walking, ideas for healthy snacks and staying active, and free refreshments.
