Stolen vehicle. Apple Valley police received a report from a resident in the 13000 block of Pennock Avenue stating that his car had been stolen, and that he believed that the daughter of his recently deceased girlfriend had taken it. He said he thought she would be en route to Louisville, Ky., accompanied by her boyfriend. He also said his dog was missing and that he suspected they took the dog as well. The information was entered into the national crime computer. On Christmas night Apple Valley police received a call from Kentucky police. They had stopped the vehicle, found that the woman was driving and arrested her for auto theft, drunken driving and assaulting a police officer. Her boyfriend, a passenger, was arrested for violating probation. Both were jailed in Kentucky. The dog was with them and was reunited with the owner.

Unwanted messages. An officer received a report from a woman who lives in an apartment complex and said someone had been leaving messages for her in the snow outside her window. The previous night someone had drawn hearts in the snow.
DEC. 28
Unwanted visitor. An officer received a complaint from a woman who said her mother had arrived for Christmas and was now refusing to leave.
JAN. 6
Traffic. At 12th Avenue and E. Cliff Road a 28-year-old Burnsville resident was arrested for drunken driving.
JAN. 7
Traffic. A man, 25, from Burnsville was arrested for drunken driving in the 1200 block of W. County Road 42.
DEC. 28
Theft. A woman filed a report alleging that her stepdaughter stole her husband's ashes from his cremation box and replaced them with sand and animal bones.
JAN. 1
Assault. An officer was called to the 200 block of Juergens Circle. It was reported that an intoxicated adult male was verbally abusing his mother. The male became violent with a Scott County deputy and was arrested for assault on a peace officer and obstructing with force.
DEC. 21
Vandalism. A woman from Prior Lake reported that her son's vehicle had chocolate syrup dumped on it while it was parked at the high school.
Burglary. A man from Savage reported that a digital camera was stolen from his vehicle sometime over the summer and an ice auger was stolen from his shed.
DEC. 28
Obstructing the legal process. An officer responded to a call in the 4000 block of W. 145th Street that resulted in the arrest of a man, 33, of Rosemount for interfering with a police officer and obstructing the legal process.
JAN. 8
Disorderly conduct. Two Rosemount men and two Farmington men, ages 21 to 28, were cited for disorderly conduct in the 14600 block of S. Robert Trail.
DEC. 22
Traffic. At the intersection of S. Hwy. 13 and SE. Rustic Road, a woman, 29, from Prior Lake was stopped for a minor violation and arrested for drunken driving, semaphore violation and driving without a license.
DEC. 24
Domestic assaults. A 17-year-old female from Savage was arrested for third-degree domestic assault after allegedly striking her brother, age 17, with a baseball bat. The 17-year-old male was arrested for second-degree assault after allegedly assaulting his father, his sister, and his 17-year-old brother, police said. A 51-year-old man from Savage was arrested for domestic assault by strangulation after allegedly choking his son, age 17.
Jan. 4
Narcotics. Two men, ages 21 and 23, from Minneapolis and Richfield, were stopped at S. Canterbury Road and Eagle Creek Boulevard and cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The Minneapolis man was also cited for driving after suspension.
