Canterbury schedule

Canterbury Park has announced the schedule for its 25th anniversary season, and it mirrors the 2009 season with 62 races beginning May 14.

The 17th Festival of Champions, highlighting the state's best horses, will be held on the final day of the season, Aug. 29.

Attendance averaged 5,481 in 2009, a record since the park reopened in 1995 after a hiatus, according to a news release. The park first opened, as Canterbury Downs, on June 26, 1985.

NORTHFIELD

First National hires VP

First National Bank of Northfield has hired Pam Galle as its senior vice president and business banking manager, the bank announced.

Galle, who was most recently the business banking manager and vice president at Wells Fargo Bank of Burnsville, has more than 25 years of banking experience at Wells Fargo locations around the Twin Cities, according to a news release.

Galle, a University of Minnesota graduate, will work out of First National's downtown bank. She lives in Elko New Market.
