South metro police blotter

APPLE VALLEY

OCT. 3

Ordinance. A resident in the 4500 block of W. 137 Street was cited for open burning, which is prohibited without a permit.

Homeowner request. A resident called and reported that there was an unoccupied squad car parked on the street outside his home to slow traffic down. He asked to have it moved because he had a house showing at noon.

OCT. 6

Domestic. Near the 7600 block of Whitney Drive, police arrested a man, 31, of Apple Valley for a fifth-degree domestic assault.

BURNSVILLE

OCT. 5

Harassment. A man, 34, from Burnsville was arrested near the 12900 block of Penn Avenue S. for contempt of court due to a violation of a restraining order. He was booked and released pending charges and investigation.

OCT. 8

Drugs. A call alerted police to a suspicious man near 1000 Burnsville Parkway. While an officer approached him he was seen throwing something under a car and it was retrieved during questioning. The man, 25, from Burnsville, was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

EAGAN

OCT. 5

Domestic. A woman, 31, of Eagan was arrested for interfering with an emergency 911 call.

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS

OCT. 7

Domestic assault. A man, 19, from Inver Grove Heights was arrested at a residence near Holman Avenue for committing an act to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death.

LAKEVILLE

SEPT. 265

Theft. At 2:56 p.m. at 17070 Kenrick Avenue, police took a report of shoplifting by a woman, age 20.

Northfield

SEPT. 20

Disturbance. Officers responding to Econo Foods confronted a man, 19, and cited him for disorderly conduct.

SEPT. 21

Traffic. Police stopped a 79-year-old woman from Northfield for erratic driving near Greenvale Avenue and Spring Street. She was cited her for failure to stop at a stop sign and having no insurance.

SEPT. 26

Traffic. An 89-year-old woman from Northfield was given a warning for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk at 2nd Street and S. Winona Street.

ROSEMOUNT

OCT. 8

Domestic assault. A 30-year-old man from Rosemount was arrested near the 3200 block of W. 144th Street for interfering with an emergency 911 call and inflicting or attempting to inflict bodily harm.

SAVAGE

SEPT. 28

Warrant. Savage police working with Prior Lake police on a solicitor complaint near the 14000 block of King Court arrested a man, 36, from Washington D.C. on an outstanding Hennepin County warrant.

Theft. Near the 12500 block of Nevada Avenue S., a business reported someone entered a fenced-in area and sole a saw valued at approximately $1,000.

SEPT. 29

Drugs. Near the intersection of Texas Avenue and E. 165th Street, a 26-year-old Apple Valley man was cited for driving after suspension and possessing a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle. He had been stopped for driving with a suspended license.

SEPT. 30

Theft. Near the 12400 block of S. Rhode Island, a man, 31, from Bloomington was cited for writing worthless checks to a Savage business.

OCT. 4

Theft. A caller in the 15300 block of S. Maryland Avenue reported a theft of construction materials valued at $15,240.

OCT. 5

Drugs. A 15-year-old Prior Lake boy was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers received a report that he was found smoking marijuana in a Savage school.
