Man guilty in crash that killed 18-year-old in Apple Valley

Last update: October 20, 2009 - 12:08 AM

A Minneapolis man pleaded guilty Monday to charges stemming from an Apple Valley crash that killed an 18-year-old woman.

Bruce Vaughn Moore, 60, pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation in Dakota County District Court.

Authorities said Moore was high on an anti-anxiety medication for which he did not have a prescription when he drove into the intersection of Cedar Avenue and County Road 42 on June 7, 2008. He ran a red light, colliding with the car driven by Darah Robertson of Farmington, police said.

Robertson's car was pushed into a third car, killing the teenager and injuring the other driver.

Responding police said Moore was disoriented, slurring his speech and swaying even a couple of hours after the crash, according to court documents.

His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.
