Antiek Market moves

Haupt Antiek Market will celebrate a grand opening at its new Apple Valley location with a preview party tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The festivities, including door prizes, treats and vintage decor, kick off the "October Market's Autumn Abundance" theme. The shop will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Haupt Antiek Market moved to Apple Valley this fall after years of drawing shoppers in search of vintage and antique housewares and collectibles to its former location in an old house in Rosemount. The new store, still open just four days a month, is at 7570 W. 147th Street in Apple Valley.

Friend and Family Day

A group of businesses led by a chiropractic clinic will hold a "Friend and Family Day" on Thursday featuring demonstrations, samples and displays as well as kids' activities, prizes and refreshments.

Quality Life Chiropractic of Apple Valley is holding the event along with LA Fitness, Burnsville ATA Martial Arts, Fusion Martial Arts, the Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Kasper Creations, Tastefully Simple, Jewels of Joy, Miche Bag, Discovery Toys and others.

Free chiropractic care

Lakeville Family Chiropractic and Rehabilitation will begin offering free chiropractic care by appointment on Saturday mornings for people who are unemployed, underemployed, uninsured or underinsured, or people with financial or health problems, a clinic spokeswoman said.

The free appointments will be available from 10 a.m. to noon starting Oct. 24. Dr. Andrea Ruhland and some staff members will be volunteering their time for the appointments.
