35W entrance-ramp closure in Bloomington rescheduled

Closure of ramp in Bloomington set for tonight.

Last update: May 13, 2009 - 11:17 PM

The closure of the entrance ramp from 98th Street to northbound Interstate 35W in Bloomington -- part of the reconstruction of I-35W from Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis -- has been rescheduled to 8 p.m. Thursday because of weather conditions, state transportation officials said.

The ramp was supposed to have closed Tuesday.

Once the weather cooperates, the ramp will remain closed for about two weeks, and motorists will be detoured north on Lyndale Avenue and Penn Avenue to 94th Street.

Periodic nighttime lane restrictions will be in place on northbound and southbound 35W between Hwy. 62 and Burnsville Parkway through Friday. Traffic will be cut to one lane in each direction from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly for resurfacing of the existing road and constructing overhead sign structures.
