Apple Valley and Blaine police were investigating two separate stabbings on Monday night.
A 23-year-old man called 911 about 5 p.m. to report that he assaulted his mother. When officers arrived at the Apple Valley home on the 134th Street West block, they found his mother had been stabbed. She was taken to the hospital.
The son, who was waiting outside the home for police, was arrested.
No other details were available.
In Blaine, police were called about 9 p.m. to a home on Davenport Street NE and found a man who had been stabbed.
