The Chameleon Theatre Circle presents the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the Ames Center this month.

There are multiple performances between April 12 and April 26. In the musical, "the destinies and struggles of Judas, Jesus, and the disciples collide as they try to make sense of their paths in life and grapple with the outcomes of their choices," according to a news release.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $19 for students and seniors. There are discounts available for groups. Tickets can be purchased at the Ames Center box office or through Ticketmaster online or by phone at 1-800-982-2787. The Ames Center is at 12600 Nicollet Av., Burnsville.

Tales of the frontier at the LeDuc Estate

Hear stories of the frontier, from horse-and-buggy road rage to land disputes and legends, when author Ken Martens discusses his book "The Perilous St. Croix River Valley Frontier" at the LeDuc Historic Estate on April 19.

Martens, vice president of the Afton Historical Museum, will talk about writing, read passages from the book and answer questions. He will also be signing and selling copies of the book. There will be folk and contemporary music by Larry Carpenter and Laura Moe of Minneapolis. Refreshments will be served.

The event, which begins at 3:30 p.m. and costs $15 per person, is part of the Third Weekend Series at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion St., Hastings. Dinner theater set for Royal Cliff Center

Dinner theater is coming to Brianno's Royal Cliff Center April 17 and 18 with the Eagan Theater Company production of "You Can't Take It With You."

The comedy is billed as "'Modern Family' set during the Great Depression. An unconventional extended family clashes with their prospective in-laws as well as the U.S. government as they happily live life on their own terms."

Tickets are $42 per person, and must be purchased in advance at www.etc-mn.org or at the Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Pkwy. The events begin at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and games coordinated by the Eagan 55 Plus/Seniors Group. The buffet dinner will be catered by Brianno's Deli Italia. Brianno's Royal Cliff Center is located at 2280 Cliff Road, Eagan.
