A wed­ding expo, fea­tur­ing 40 ven­dors of­fer­ing food, decor, mu­sic, ap­par­el and more, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. March 22 at the Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Pkwy.

Admission is free for Eagan Community Center mem­bers; $5 for all oth­ers.

Summer youth job ap­pli­ca­tions avail­able

The ap­pli­ca­tion dead­line is March 11 for seas­on­al youth rec­re­a­tion lead­er jobs with the city of Pri­or Lake. Three po­si­tions are open, each with an av­er­age of 23 hours per week. Shifts de­pend­ on sched­uled ac­tiv­i­ties.

Ap­pli­cants must be 16 years old as of May 1 and have a valid Minnesota driv­er's li­cense and an ac­cept­able driv­ing re­cord. The jobs pay $10.75 per hour to start.

Advice for deal­ing with el­der­ly driv­ers

Un­sure when to take the keys away from an el­der­ly par­ent?

Jim Tift, who teach­es in the School of Health at St. Catherine University, will be teach­ing a work­shop called "Tak­ing the car keys away from an old driv­er" on March 19.

The ses­sion at Club Pri­or, 16210 Eagle Creek Av. SE, be­gins at 7 p.m. Tift will cov­er warn­ing signs that in­di­cate an old­er driv­er should not be driv­ing and ex­plain who can de­ter­mine that some­one should not be driv­ing. He will also share in­for­ma­tion on help avail­able for old­er peo­ple in need of trans­por­ta­tion.

City Hall hosts Winter Market

The Pri­or Lake Winter Market will be held 9 a.m. to noon March 14 at City Hall, 4646 Dakota St. SE.

Ven­dors will be sell­ing break­fast treats, cof­fee, jew­el­ry, hand­crafted items and oth­er sum­mer mar­ket favorites, while live bands en­ter­tain shop­pers. The far­mers mar­ket of­ten fea­tures local ar­tists sell­ing wov­en rugs, iron work, pot­ter­y and oth­er wares. Many of the sum­mer­time mar­ket's ven­dors will be at the Winter Market.

Think spring with mas­ter gar­den­ers

The Carver-Scott mas­ter gar­den­er free gar­den­ing class­es will con­tin­ue through­out March at the Pri­or Lake Library, 16210 Eagle Creek Av. SE.

Classes are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mon­days through April 6. There will be no class March 9. The March 16 top­ic will be "Grow your own sal­ad."

Other top­ics in­clude "Be­gin­ning Flow­er Gar­den­ing" on March 23, "Garden Design" on March 30 and "Per­en­ni­als for Col­or All Sea­son" on April 6.

Out­door sur­viv­al skills ses­sion for kids

Children ages 8 to 12 can learn sur­viv­al skills, shel­ter build­ing, fire mak­ing and ani­mal track­ing at Spring Break Ad­ven­tures: Sur­viv­al Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17 at Cleary Lake Regional Park, 18106 Texas Av., Pri­or Lake.

Program teaches adults about owls

Adults 50 and old­er are in­vit­ed to learn about "Owls — Birds of Prey" at a program from noon to 2 p.m. Mon­day at Cleary Lake Regional Park. Total cost is $11.

Spring egg hunt set for March 28

Children 10 and young­er are in­vit­ed to the annu­al spring egg hunt at 10 a.m. March 28 at the Ames Soccer Com­plex at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th St. W.

Children are di­vid­ed by age groups and a bun­ny will be avail­able for photos. Find the gold­en egg and win a spe­cial prize. Dona­tions are ac­cept­ed for 360 Com­mu­ni­ties and the Family Re­source Center.

Family law clin­ic of­fered at law li­brar­y

A free fam­i­ly law clin­ic will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Mon­day at the Scott County Law Library, 200 4th Av. W. in Shakopee.

People can make a half-hour ap­point­ment to talk to a vol­un­teer at­tor­ney re­gard­ing pro­cess­es of Family Court.
