Arts briefs: Free show at Hastings apple orchard

  • Updated: August 16, 2014 - 2:00 PM

Bring your dancing shoes to an apple orchard Sunday evening for a free concert.

Homemade pie, brownies, root beer floats and other treats are being promised, and lawn chairs or blankets would be wise.

The 6:30 p.m. event is a joint effort of members of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, who will serve; the sponsor, Hastings Concert Association, with support from businesses and individuals; and the LeDuc Historic Estate, the site of the proceedings at 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings.

Entertainment is by the Squires, with frequent past appearances at weddings, dances and community events. Musical offerings range from slow modern to classic rock, polkas and waltzes. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy a delightful evening of music and food.
