The work of Minnesota photographer Becqi Sherman, who calls her artwork “digital impressionism,” will be on display through July at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.
Sherman uses digital techniques to alter photographs, resulting in a saturated watercolor-like image.
The exhibit can be viewed during the center’s normal hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Sherman’s exhibit was financed through a crowdfunding campaign, and a special “Backer Board” will be on display as a thank you to her backers.
The arts center is at 20965 Holyoke Av. For more information, call 952-985-4640.
‘Take a kid fishing’
The county is hosting a “take-a-kid-fishing” event on Sunday, June 8 at Thompson County Park in West St. Paul, with poles available to borrow and experienced anglers on hand to teach how to tie knots, bait a hook and cast.
The free event is noon to 3 p.m., and there will be door prizes, giveaways and hot concessions.
The county asks participants to come dressed for the weather in sturdy footwear. Fishing poles, tackle, bait and all supplies are provided. Adults do not need a fishing license when fishing with a child.
The park is at 360 Butler Av. E., West St. Paul.
