City puts ‘available properties’ online

Shakopee is taking advantage of a new business development tool from the state: searches for sites to build on.

The state Department of Employment and Economic Development’s LocationOne information systems helps locals let firms know what’s out there.

Users search for buildings and sites by location, square footage, acreage and building type.

The state is letting cities, counties and others embed the tool on their websites at no cost.
