District reviewing attendance areas

Farmington Area Public Schools is in the process of reviewing 2014-15 attendance areas for its elementary and middle schools. The school board is anticipating making a decision on new boundaries in November.

Adjustments are needed to correct enrollment imbalances, account for population growth and accommodate all-day kindergarten which will begin next fall in the district.

The attendance area committee is currently looking through data and will develop several options and recommendations for the school board. The board will present options at its Monday, Oct. 14, meeting, with several public open houses to follow.
