A third man has been arrested in connection with the April 18 slaying of a 19-year-old high school student in Shakopee.

Michael D. Jarmon, 31, of Plymouth, is accused of being the gunman who killed Marcos Pantaleon and wounded his older brother, Miguel, and younger cousin, according to charges filed in Scott County District Court.

Jarmon was charged July 12 with second-degree intentional murder, first-degree aggravated robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of second-degree assault. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was picked up last week in Las Vegas, authorities said. He is expected to be extradited to Scott County.

An alleged accomplice, Steven Andre Moore, 27, of Minneapolis, is awaiting trial in Scott County District Court. Charges against him were upgraded to first-degree murder after he was indicted by a grand jury. Another man, Justin K. Watson, pleaded guilty July 12 to aiding and abetting second-degree unintentional murder. Part of the plea agreement called for him to testify against Jarmon and Moore. Watson will be sentenced in January.

According to the criminal complaint, Moore and Watson initially planned to drive to Shakopee to buy marijuana. Jarmon was looking for marijuana, too, but didn't have the money to buy it.

Moore told the two that they could steal Miguel Pantaleon's marijuana and his wallet. Jarmon brought his gun. The three men knocked on the door of the apartment in the 600 block of Gorman Street. A struggle ensued and shots were fired, the complaint said.

The Pantaleon family identified Moore, their former neighbor, as one of the assailants. Moore then implicated Watson, his cousin, and Jarmon.
