The latest play from the Chameleon Theatre Circle is a wedding story that puts the emphasis on the bridesmaids.

"Five Women Wearing the Same Dress," by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Alan Ball ("American Beauty," "Six Feet Under" and "True Blood"), opened Friday and runs through May 18.

In the play, five bridesmaids seek refuge from a lavish wedding reception that none of them can stand. What follows is a turbulent mix of personalities and attitudes, leading to moments of comedy and drama.

Chameleon's production is directed by Mishia Burns Edwards and stars Trish Fike, Kacie Galyon, Tom Goerger, Elana Gravitz, Anna Olson and Lindsay Yach.

Remaining shows are at 2 p.m. today and May 19 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and May 13, 17 and 18. The May 13 show will be "pay what you can" night, in which audience members can set their own price, and that evening's show will be followed by a discussion with the cast and crew.

The shows are at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center's Black Box Theatre, 12600 Nicollet Av. Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for students and seniors.
