A "fashion extravaganza," with spring fashions and decor featured and available for sale, is planned Thursday evening at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

A cash bar and complimentary appetizers begin at 6 p.m., followed by a fashion show at 7.

The event is sponsored by Downtown Lakeville Business Association retailers including Perfectly Random, Belle Ami Salon & Spa, Pink Door Boutique, Flora, Etc., Isabella's, Ace Hardware, Sacks in the City, Pizazz Salon & Boutique, Tailor on Main, Erickson Ben Franklin, Evolve of Lakeville and the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

Amundson speaking at Author's Sunday

Author Susan Amundson will be the speaker at the Author's Sunday event at 1 p.m. May 5 at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion St. in Hastings.

Amundson, author of the picture book "Hero Finds His Path," will discuss her writing craft and her motivation, read from her book, and sign and sell books. The event is free and open to all.

"Hero Finds His Path" is a story about a confident young show puppy who learns to handle rejection and finds real happiness.
