A three-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Apple Valley sent seven people to hospitals with injuries, including one who was critically hurt.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Garden View Drive and McAndrews Road.

One of the drivers, in a minivan with six people, had critical injuries and was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Apple Valley police said.

Five passengers in that vehicle and the passenger of another car were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.
