Continued: South metro police blotter

Apple Valley

WEEK OF JUNE 2

Missing person. According to Apple Valley Police Chief Scott Johnson, it's not unusual to take a runaway report and an occasional report of a lost child or an adult who didn't return home. What is unusual is that the department had eight such reports last week. With the exception of a runaway teenager who has not yet been found, all have been accounted for, including a 14-year-old girl reported missing by her mother. The officer insisted that the mother begin by checking for her daughter in their house. The mother found her daughter asleep in another room.

Zoo complaint. A dispatcher received a telephone call from a visitor at the Minnesota Zoo. She wanted the police to respond to the zoo. She said that in the wolf exhibit, three wolves killed another wolf in front of the children watching them. Police were unsure if the woman wanted police to arrest the wolves, so the matter was referred back to the zoo.

JUNE 4

Neighbor dispute. Community Service Officer Scott Sager responded to a caller who requested help getting into his locked vehicle in his driveway. While handling that call the man told Sager that he wanted him to speak with his next door neighbor. He said his neighbor's garage light blinks off and on all night and as a result he is having trouble sleeping.

Animal complaint. Officer Sager received another call to go to a residence on an animal complaint. "When I arrived the man told me that there was a fawn deer laying on his front steps," Sager said. "It was."

JUNE 6

Theft. A ladder was stolen from a front yard in the 13500 block of Cedar Avenue.

Prior Lake

JUNE 4

Animal complaint. A woman in the 5400 block of SE. Woodlawn Circle reported a loose cat was killing baby rabbits in her yard.

Savage

JUNE 2

Theft. A woman in the 14400 block of Alabama Avenue S. reported someone attempted to siphon gas from her vehicle while it was parked on the driveway overnight.

JUNE 3

Disorderly conduct. An 18-year-old man from Prior Lake was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing after he entered the high school and let a chicken loose.

JUNE 4

Littering. A 20-year-old man from Norwood was cited for littering and no seat belt violation after the officers received a report of a person who threw a pop can out the window and struck a gosling.
