Dakota County calendar: Minnesota author shares organic farming memoir

Minnesota organic farmer Atina Diffley will read from her memoir, “Turn Here Sweet Corn: Organic Farming Works.” The book is also described as a love story and legal thriller. Diffley will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert Trail Library, 14395 S. Robert Trail.

Lakeville

Mixed media works on display

On display through April 30 at the Lakeville Area Arts Center are the works of Lisa Westphal, a University of Minnesota graduate and teacher at the Arts Center. Westphal has been exploring surface textures for years, layering everything from dyes, ink and paint to recyclables and gel on her canvasses.

The exhibit is open during daytime hours at the arts center: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening hours vary. The Lakeville Area Arts Center is at 20965 Holyoke Av. For more information, call 952-985-4640.

Eagan

Annual quilt exhibit at high school

For the 18th year in a row, Eagan High School will host its annual quilt exhibit in honor of Women’s History Month. “Quilted Expressions” will display the work of dozens of quilters, with a special feature on the quilts of St. Cloud resident Pam Dinndorf. The quilts will be displayed weekdays through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the library at Eagan High School, 4185 Braddock Trail.
