Southbound Highway 169 between Highways 14 in Mankato and 22 in St. Peter was closed to traffic Saturday afternoon because of flooding, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported. Flooding also closed Highway 66 in both directions between Blue Earth County Rd. 35 in the Good Thunder area and Highway 169 near Mankato.

The National Weather Service in Chanhassen cautioned motorists to watch for any areas of ponding on roads as moderate to heavy rains continue to fall and mild temperatures leads to rapid snowmelt through Saturday afternoon and evening.

The Weather Service said mixed precipitation is expected to change over to snow in parts of western Minnesota, with 2 to 4 inches of snow expected northwest of a line from near Little Falls to Montevideo. Farther to the south, the precipitation will fall as rain.

Overnight Saturday, however, snow will spread southeast, with a general 1 to 2 inch accumulation possible over southern Minnesota int
