Adam E. Berg was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail for exposing himself to children or showing them pornographic images in at least four incidents in six weeks last winter in Farmington.

Berg, 31, of Farmington, pleaded guilty in October to second-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct, a felony, and three counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a gross misdemeanor.

The criminal complaint filed against him in Dakota County District Court said he told his wife that he would walk up to a child, unzip his pants and expose himself "because it gave him a rush."

On Jan. 16, 2012, Berg approached a 4-year-old boy in a park, exposed himself and asked the boy to touch him, the complaint said. Berg left when the boy's mother approached. On Feb. 13, Berg was in a pickup truck when he approached an 8-year-old girl outside, exposed himself and asked her to touch him.

Two more incidents happened Feb. 27, when he showed a 10-year-old girl walking to a park a cellphone photo of a naked female and later showed two boys, ages 9 and 12, a photo of female genitalia. The boys' father saw his sons talking to Berg and gave police a description of his vehicle.

District Judge Edward Lynch ordered Berg to serve 10 years on probation, undergo a polygraph test, pay restitution and a $500 fine, and register as a predatory offender, among other conditions.
