ShopJimmy.com, a specialty recycler that refurbishes and sells used television parts, is moving to Burnsville.

The company recently leased almost 290,000 square feet of office and warehouse space in the I-35 Distribution Center, a 413,000-square-foot industrial property at 2300 W. Hwy. 13. The business has been operating out of facilities in Bloomington and Lino Lakes.

Spokesman Ryan Zarlengo said the company, which has 82 full-time employees and about 50 temporary workers, began moving into the Burnsville space in late December.

"It's a great space for us to grow into, as this will be our fifth building in about six years. We wanted to make sure it was the right fit both in warehouse space and office layout, which we're completely remodeling," Zarlengo said.

Founded five years ago as a hobby by Jimmy Voiska, the company has grown to about $18 million in sales this year. It ships its recycled parts worldwide and earlier this year bolstered its own operations by acquiring Discount TV Parts of Naperville, Ill. The acquisition increased ShopJimmy's inventory and reach by adding nearly 90,000 TV parts to its inventory.

Eagan industrial building sold

Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq recently oversaw the sale of the Kennebec Distribution Center, an industrial property at 3703 Kennebec Drive in Eagan.

Terms of the purchase by Boston-based TA Associates Realty were not disclosed.

The 155,000-square-foot building, which has more than 19,000 square feet of office space, was built in 1994. Its most recent taxable value was about $5.28 million, according to Dakota County property records.

The seller was Dover Partners, an investment firm that has offices in Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Firms' hiring efforts recognized

Two companies based in Eagan were among 10 Minnesota businesses recently recognized as job creators by Inc. Magazine's first "Hire Power Awards."

In a list of privately held U.S. firms, the publication said that from 2008 to 2011, Prime Therapeutics boosted employment from 1,621 to 2,154, and White House Custom Colour increased its workforce from 197 to 257.

Other Minnesota businesses on the list included The Nerdery in Bloomington, Zerorez of Minnesota in Richfield, Wunderlich-Malec in Minnetonka, Sagitec Solutions of Little Canada, Renters Warehouse in Golden Valley, and Minneapolis-based Seward Co-op Grocery, DC Group and Outsell.
