The Burnsville Police Department has received a $6,500 donation for the purchase of three automated external defibrillators.

The Burnsville Lions Club, Burnsville Rotary Clubs and Burnsville Wal-Mart made the donation. The defibrillators can help restore a regular heart rhythm after a cardiac arrest and will be carried in city squad cars.

"We owe an extreme amount of gratitude for our community partners and the way they have stepped in and provided us with these funds," said Burnsville Police Chief Eric Gieseke.
