APRIL 6
Theft. A safe, containing $200 worth of lottery tickets, was stolen from the 14300 block of Burnhaven Drive.
APRIL 7
Theft. An American flag was stolen from the 13200 block of Penn Avenue S.
APRIL 8
Burglary. A burglary was interrupted in the 15100 block of Greenhaven Drive. Nothing was taken, but $900 in damages were caused. A 45-year-old Farmington man was arrested.
APRIL 12
Theft. Outgoing mail was stolen from a mailbox in the 14600 block of Greenridge Lane.
APRIL 14
Burglary. A 49-year-old Burnsville man was arrested for burglarizing a house in the 12500 block of Glenhurst Avenue.
MARCH 23
Drug paraphernalia. Officers were called to a house regarding an altercation between two juveniles. Police said one of them was completely out of control and was fighting with family members and breaking items throughout the house. Officers discovered they were fighting over a marijuana pipe. One suspect admitted to owning the pipe and added there was a "spare" hidden in the kitchen. The juvenile was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
MARCH 29
Burglary. At approximately 3:55 a.m., officers responded to a local bank regarding an alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered two men running from the bank and apprehended them. Through investigation, it was discovered the suspects pried open an ATM machine and left behind the tools they used. The suspects were arrested for second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, obstructing the legal process, and fleeing a police officer on foot. They were transported to the Dakota County Jail.
APRIL 9
Burglary. Police responded to a burglary call at the Spool House. When the owner of the business arrived to work, she discovered that there was a broken window. The cash drawer was found open, the window had been broken by a rock, and there were boxes tipped over from someone coming in through the broken window. The owner reported that one check was missing from the cash drawer.
APRIL 12
Property damage. A man in the 200 block of W. 18th Street reported his wife heard loud noises in the backyard around 1 a.m. In the morning, the man found that the pipe on his sump pump had been broken off.
APRIL 11
Suspicious person. Police received a report from a person in the 17300 block of SE. River Birch, that a suspicious person was knocking on the door. The suspicious person was the complainant's neighbor.
APRIL 11-- 18
Theft. Officers responded to a report from an individual who stated that a neighbor had just pulled into the driveway with a pick-up truck that they suspected was full of stolen metals. The officers responded to the location and located a man with the truck, who admitted that he had stolen the metals and was intending to sell them at a commercial scrap yard in St. Paul. The officers arrested the suspect and impounded the truck along with the stolen metal. Offices were able to determine that the steel had been stolen from a worksite in Dundas and was valued at $4,000.
APRIL 11-- 18
Drunken driving. An officer responded to a hit and run property damage crash where a vehicle rear-ended another vehicle, then fled the scene, striking two street signs. Witnesses followed the vehicle to a residence and the vehicle pulled into the garage. When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed that the vehicle had been involved in the crash, because the front license plate of the suspect vehicle was left at the scene of the crash. The driver is facing charges for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash and drunken driving.
APRIL 15
Burglary. Two Dell laptops and a video camera were stolen from Bethel Lutheran Church, 1321 North Av.
APRIL 21
Theft. The front passenger window of a vehicle was broken out while parked at the Olympus Athletic Club, 1000 S. Hwy. 3. A purse was taken from the vehicle.
APRIL 12
Burglary. A resident in the 9400 block of W. County Road 101, reported someone attempted to break into the house without success.
APRIL 14
Property damage. A resident in the 12400 block of S. Cavell Avenue reported someone threw jelly donuts at his house and vehicle.
APRIL 13
Property damage. Someone reported graffitti on a Minneapolis Police squad car. The graffitti was written in crayon.
APRIL 15
Suspicious activity. A man in the 4200 block of Priorwood Street reported his garage door was opening and shutting by itself.
