Artwork by students and instructors at the Lakeville Area Arts Center will be offered at a Holiday Art Sale from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The artwork -- including jewelry, pottery, mixed media and other creations -- will remain available during regular business hours through Dec. 16.

As part of the sale, the pottery studio is sponsoring an "empty bowls" fundraiser, with 70 pieces created by potters available at a suggested donation of $8 each. Proceeds go to local food shelves.

FARMINGTON

Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast today The Farmington Knights of Columbus, Council 2400, will be hosting a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon today at the Church of St. Michael, 22120 Denmark Av. in Farmington.

The meal will include pancakes, French toast, sausage links and scrambled eggs, plus coffee, juice and water. All proceeds from good will offerings will go to local charities.

NORTHFIELD

One-act play auditions Dec. 9-10 The Northfield Arts Guild Theater will hold auditions for two one-act plays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. next Sunday and Monday, Dec. 9-10.

The auditions will take place at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 W. 3rd St. in Northfield. Call the Arts Guild to schedule an audition time.

The one-act plays are "Yiddish Cowboys" and "Cabin 12."

"Yiddish Cowboys" takes place in a village in Poland in 1939, where townspeople are excited about plans to film a Hollywood western. Three women ages 20s to 50s, one boy age 10-13 and one girl age 6-9 are needed for the cast.

"Cabin 12" is the story of a father and son who must find a way to communicate in their time of grief. Three men ages 20s-60s and one woman age 20-30 are needed.
