Apple Valley

APRIL 10

Miscellaneous. Police received a call from a military veteran who said he noticed that his next-door neighbor was flying his flag on his backyard flag pole, and the flag was upside down. A police officer went to the house and brought this to the attention of the homeowner. He apologized and said he hadn't noticed. The officer explained to him that a flag being flown upside down in the Navy is a sign of being in distress and needing help. The flag was placed right-side up.

APRIL 13

Burglary. The manager of Enjoy Restaurant reported that someone entered the restaurant during the night and stole two cash registers. There was no sign of forced entry and it is believed that a door may have been left unlocked. The case is under investigation.

APRIL 14

Burglary. At 6:12 a.m., an employee of the American Legion came to work, heard a noise, and saw a man crawling out of a large vent on the building. The man ran off. A search of the area failed to locate him.

Burnsville

MARCH 20

Found property. A men's gold wedding ring with three diamonds was found at Caribou Coffee, 12601 Nicollet Av.

Lakeville

APRIL 10

Property damage. A mailbox was vandalized in the 9700 block of E. 230th Street.

Eagan

APRIL 16

Threats. A man went to the police department to report that he found a suspicous/threatening letter taped to his house. The letter claimed to be from someone the man works with. The letter threatened to spread rumors of sexual misconduct with students if the man didn't place $1,000 in an envelope at Sky Hill Park in two days. Burnsville and Apple Valley police departments received similar complaints.

Prior Lake

APRIL 4

Suspicious activity. Police received a report of three teenagers with weapons in the woods in the 5000 block of Minnesota Street. Police located the three people with airsoft guns. Their parents were advised.

Property damage. A park picnic shelter in the 17100 block of SE. Fish Point Road was vandalized.

APRIL 6

Theft. Baseball equipment, value $840, was stolen from a vehicle in the 15200 block of NW. Fairway Heights Road.

Rosemount

APRIL 9

Theft. A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 2800 block of W. 130th Street.

APRIL 11

Auto theft. A vehicle was stolen in the 15000 block of Claret Avenue.

Savage

APRIL 6

Property damage. A resident reported that someone spray-painted a graphic statement on his trailer in the 14500 block of S. Joppa Avenue.
