With a week to go until Halloween, seasonal celebrations are reaching a fever pitch, including Sever's Corn Maze and Fall Festival in Shakopee, now in its 16th year.

In addition to the cornfield carved into a sprawling maze, there's a corn bale maze, a corn pit -- "hours of fun for kids, soothing and therapeutic for adults," the website says -- a petting zoo, pumpkin blasters and a giant slide.

The maze is run by Sever and Sharon Peterson. For more information, see www.severscornmaze.com.
