Arts briefs: Russian art on display in West St. Paul

Russian art and culture are on display in a new art exhibit at the Dakota County Northern Service Center, 1 Mendota Road W. in West St. Paul.

"The Art of Russia" features architecture, photography, paintings, postage stamps, porcelain, textiles and sculpture from imperial Russia to the end of the Cold War.

Portions of the exhibit are courtesy of the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis. The presentation was arranged by the Dakota County Historical Society. It will be on display through January.

Chinese acrobats return

A troupe of Chinese acrobats is making a return appearance at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center on Oct. 6.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats brought their "Cirque D'Or" show to town last February, featuring performers balancing on stacks of chairs, flying through hoops and balancing all manner of props.

The show is at 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 on the center's main stage. Tickets start at $22 for adults, $19 for seniors and $12 for kids. The center is at 12600 Nicollet Av. Call 952-895-4685 or see www.burnsvillpac.com for more information.
