South Metro Chorale names new director

The South Metro Chorale has a new artistic director.

Russell Adrian, a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a master's degree in choral conducting, assumed the post July 1.

Before his work in Madison, he was music director at Western Mennonite School in Salem, Ore. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and daughter and is pursuing his doctorate degree in choral conducting at the University of Minnesota.

Rehearsals of the South Metro Chorale will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake. Those interested in auditioning should call Adrian at 316-217-5525 or e-mail director@southmetro chorale.org. Auditions are being scheduled for Aug. 25.

The chorale's first concerts with Adrian are Dec. 8 and 9. For more information, go to www. SouthMetroChorale.org.
