A melee at an Apple Valley graduation party last month has led to criminal charges against nine of the youths involved.
The Dakota County attorney's office on Tuesday announced misdemeanor charges against eight juveniles, ranging in age from 14 to 17, and one 18-year-old man in the June 1 brawl, which reportedly involved 50 to 100 people, in the parking lot of the Hayes Community and Senior Center. All nine were charged with disorderly conduct; one, a 15-year-old Apple Valley resident, also was charged with fourth-degree assault, and one, a 15-year-old Brooklyn Park resident, also was charged with giving a false name to a police officer.
Three of the juveniles charged are from Apple Valley, two are from Minneapolis, two are from Jordan and one is from Brooklyn Park.
