A truck driver died early Saturday after losing control while driving on Interstate 494 in Dakota County and smashing into several unoccupied vehicles.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Hanover resident David Peterson, 45, was eastbound on the freeway at 7th Avenue in South St. Paul shortly before 5 a.m. when he drove off the road.
His truck, which rolled over, ended up on a frontage road and hit at least four parked, unoccupied vehicles, the patrol reported.
