The special election will replace Sen. Tom Neuville, R-Northfield, who is to be sworn in as a Rice County judge this month.
Voters in a south-metro Senate district split by Interstate 35 will vote in a special election today to replace Sen. Tom Neuville, R-Northfield, who will be sworn in as a Rice County judge this month.
Former Republican state Rep. Ray Cox, a construction company owner, will face off against DFLer Kevin Dahle, a high school teacher and union leader, and Independence Party candidate Vance Norgaard, an organic farmer. All three candidates are from Northfield.
Senate District 25 includes parts of Le Sueur, Rice, Scott and Sibley counties.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. For polling locations and election information, go to the Minnesota secretary of state's website at www.sos.state.mn.us or call 1-877-600-VOTE.
