Neighborhood dispute. A man called police to his home in the 11200 block of Terrace Road NE. because he said his neighbor continually blows his snow into his yard and onto his privacy fence. Police spoke with the neighbor, who the report said declined to change his behavior and requested a ticket. The police issued a citation for littering.
DEC. 27
Theft. A woman called police to report a theft at Chuck E. Cheese, 8943 University Av. NE. According to the police report, she left her purse unattended and someone stole it and its contents.
JAN. 1
Disturbing the peace. Someone called police to report hearing seven gunshots fired in a hallway in the 1800 block of 105th Lane NW. Police set up a perimeter and entered the building. Officers found broken balloons in an entryway and believed that to be the cause of the sound heard by the caller.
JAN. 1
Indecent exposure. An officer saw a man urinating on a car in the parking lot at Baggan's Pub, 3720 East River Road NE. The 36-year-old man was issued a citation for indecent exposure.
JAN. 2
Suspicious activity. Police responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at a home in the 200 block of Ely Street NE. Officers located a man, detained him and then learned that he was there to fix frozen pipes at the homeowner's request.
JAN. 3
Assist fire. Police responded to a report of a smell of natural gas coming from an apartment in the 1100 block of 52nd Avenue NE. Police did not detect the odor of natural gas, but did detect the smell of dead fish. An officer advised the fire department of the findings.
DEC. 19
Drunken driving. Police responded to a call of a vehicle in the ditch in the 2600 block of County Road I. A 22-year-old Mounds View man was arrested for third-degree driving while intoxicated.
DEC. 28
Burglary. Police were called to a home in the 7100 block of 170th Trail NW. on a report of a burglary. An off-duty police officer was fighting with three males who were burglarizing his garage, the report said. Police arrested a man and two women for alleged first-degree burglary.
DEC. 21
Drugs. Police went to a home in the 3600 block of Silver Lake Road regarding a 911 hang-up call. A woman told police that her son attempted to light a methamphetamine pipe with a propane torch. The son allegedly slapped his mother and disconnected the phone line as she was trying to call for help. The man was arrested for felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor interference with a 911 call and misdemeanor domestic assault. He also had a felony warrant from Hennepin County, the report said.
JAN. 1
Underage consumption. Officers responded to a call of a theft on 29th Avenue NE. and Roosevelt Avenue. A 20-year-old woman reported that her boyfriend took her cell phone. The boyfriend, also 20, returned the phone when she called police. Officers said they could smell alcohol on both of them, and both were cited for underage consumption of alcohol.
