Theft. A man reported that he met a woman on the Internet and that she sent him a check for $3,200 and told him to send a check back for $2,996 to cover her airfare to America. The man sent the woman a money gram for $2,996 and was told by his bank that the check he had received from her was fraudulent.
OCT. 26
Littering. Police saw a passenger in a vehicle throw a lit cigarette from the window on the 12400 block of Central Avenue NE. The 52-year-old woman admitted to throwing the cigarette and identified herself to police. According to police reports, the woman was later identified as someone else, a person who had two warrants out for her arrest. She was arrested for littering, giving a false name to police, obstructing the legal process, a second-degree burglary warrant from Dakota County and fifth-degree controlled substance warrant from Hennepin County.

Drug paraphernalia. Someone called to complain of a suspicious vehicle parked in a business parking lot on the 11000 block of Aquila Drive. A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for drug paraphernalia.

Theft. An all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a trailer parked in the yard of a home on the 8500 block of 178th Lane NE.
OCT. 25
Property damage. Police were called to a home on the 22300 block of Monroe St. NE. Someone drove an all-terrain vehicle through the yard, damaging lawn ornaments.
OCT. 24
Theft. Police received four reports of garage break-ins on the 5300 block of 4th Street NE. Items were stolen from vehicles parked in the garages. In all cases, the garage service doors were kicked in.

Property damage. Police responded to numerous calls of property damage on the 2500 block of Sherwood Road. Multiple mailboxes in the area were hit with pumpkins.
OCT. 26
Theft. An 18-year-old man was arrested for pushing a 14-year-old boy off his bicycle and fleeing with it. The bicycle was recovered from the suspect.
OCT. 30
Theft. An 18-year-old Mounds View woman was arrested for driving off without paying for gasoline, twice in one week, from a business on the 2600 block of County Road I. She was also cited for driving after suspension.
OCT. 31
Weapons. An 11-year-old boy was cited for discharging a firearm within the city limits. He was shooting a BB gun in the back yard of his grandfather's home on the 4000 block of Glenhaven Lane.

Theft. Gas was siphoned from work vehicles on the 21000 block of Lake George Blvd. NW.
OCT. 25
Theft. A man called police to report that his 1997 Jeep had been stolen from an underground parking garage on the 2500 block of Kenzie Terrace. The keys to the vehicle were left in the ignition and the vehicle was unlocked.
OCT. 29
Theft. An employee from Murphy's Service Center, 3501 29th Av. NE., called police to report that a vehicle that was brought in for repair was stolen sometime during the night. The business said the repairs had not been done yet, so the vehicle was likely broken down somewhere.
OCT. 31
Theft. Two 16-year-old girls were arrested for shoplifting $611 worth of merchandise from Wal-mart, 3800 Silver Lake Road. Their parents were contacted.
