TCF branch in Arden Hills Cub robbed by a woman

Last update: October 16, 2009 - 11:20 PM

A bank robber who held up a TCF Bank branch in Arden Hills on Wednesday did her best to make sure she didn't leave any evidence behind.

After stuffing cash into a bag, she reached back and retrieved the demand note she had written.

The female suspect had roamed the aisles of the Cub Foods at 3717 Lexington Av. "for some time" before she entered the bank around 7:20 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, said FBI Spokesman E.K. Wilson.

After receiving some cash, the robber demanded more money. She stuffed the cash into an orange bag, grabbed the demand note and fled, Wilson said.

The suspect was last seen leaving the grocery store parking lot in a grey or silver two-door sedan, heading south on Lexington Avenue, Wilson said.

She was described as a black woman believed to be in her 20s or early 30s, between 5-feet-6-inches and 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds.

She was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt or coat, black pants, a black baseball cap, blue mittens and white sneakers at the time of the holdup.

Anyone with information on the robbery can call the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers. Authorities are offering a reward.
