Details are scant, however the State Patrol said a 32-year-old woman from Forest Lake was involved in the crash. Two other vehicles were reportedly involved.
A crash at the intersection of Interstate 35W and 694 in New Brighton caused police to shut down the southbound lane of 35W for several hours and left a Forest Lake woman in critical condition.
According to the State Patrol, the 32-year-old woman was driving a 2009 Ford pickup truck east on 694 shortly after 4 p.m. when the car crashed off the highway onto Interstate 35W below. The woman was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with multiple fractures, including the neck and skull, as well as multiple lacerations.
A second vehicle, a semitrailer truck driven eastbound on 694 by a 21-year-old St. Paul man, was also involved in the accident, but troopers did not have further details Saturday night. He was not injured.
