AUG. 3
Disorderly conduct. Police were called to the 800 block of 98th Lane NE. because a 31-year-old-man reported to police that a 30-year-old woman threw a hamburger at him and then hit him. The woman admitted to throwing the hamburger and said she hit him because he shoved her. Both parties decided not to press charges.
AUG. 4
Disturbing the peace. A man from the 11700 block of Arnold Palmer Trail NE. reported to police that someone lit bags of dog feces on fire and put them on his porch.
AUG. 5
Theft. Someone broke into a vending machine on the 9700 block of University Avenue W. and stole 85 air fresheners and cash in the amount of $85.
AUG. 6
Theft. An employee from Holiday Station store, 202 101st Av. NW., called police to report that a man could not pay for the gas he had put in his vehicle. Police spoke with the man and he said that he was going to pay with his EBT card but that the cash machine wouldn't accept it. He was unable to find a friend or family member to help him pay for the purchase. He was issued a citation for theft.
AUG. 10
Disorderly conduct. A man from the 10200 block of Hanson Boulevard NW. called police and asked that an officer talk to three juveniles because he was hit in the foot by an unknown item. An officer found the three juveniles and one of them admitted he had shot a soft pellet gun in the direction of the man and it accidentally hit him. The 12-year-old apologized to the man and the soft pellet gun was given to the officer to be destroyed.
Disturbing the peace. Police were called to Subway, 2046 Northdale Blvd. NW., because a man was inside the store complaining about a hair in his food. The man left before police arrived and they were unable to locate him.
AUG. 4
Drunken driving. Police were called to the Firehouse Lounge, 3801 Restwood Road, because of a property damage accident involving a motor vehicle. An 81-year-old man was backing his car out of a parking space and hit another vehicle. Police said his portable breath test reading was .132 blood alcohol content. He was issued a citation and taken home.
AUG. 4
Traffic violation. Police arrested a 34-year-old man for driving after suspension on the 3800 block of Belden Drive. Police contacted the owner of the vehicle and questioned her about the incident. She was advised she would be mailed citations for an owner allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle and an owner allowing the operation of an uninsured vehicle.
AUG. 5
Suspicious activity. Someone called police to report suspicious activity at a home on the 3200 block of Edgemere Avenue. Police saw a suspect pounding and kicking the door. The suspect, a 19-year-old man, said he was trying to get into a friend's house. Police said that, after doing checks on the name, it was discovered that the friend lived in New Brighton. Officers said they gave the man a preliminary breath test, which gave a reading of .158 alcohol concentration. The man was arrested and driven home with citations for underage consumption and disorderly conduct.
AUG. 7
Welfare check. Police responded to a 911 hang-up call on the 2500 block of Lowry in the Lowry Grove Trailer Park. The resident said he was having phone problems. Police identified him as a 31-year-old man and routine checks showed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested.
