SEPT. 18
Theft. A 17-year-old, from the 500 block of 87th Avenue NE., reported she signed up for a job placement service online. She received an e-mail from a person offering to hire her. Part of the employment involved depositing two $1,500 checks into her account, keeping $300 for compensation and sending back $2,700 by Western Union to Crossville, Tenn. She did and is now told by Wells Fargo the checks are fake and she owes the bank $3,000. She was advised this is a common Internet scam and to appeal to Wells Fargo for a deduction in her debt.
Property damage. Police were called to the 1800 block of 129th Lane NE. in regard to a political sign that was burned. There were seven other cases of burned signs in the area.
SEPT. 19
Disturbing the peace. An anonymous report was received of approximately 100 juveniles partying on the 200 block of 94th Avenue NW. Upon arrival, officers found many juveniles in the street, in the driveway and in the yard. Many of them left after officers arrived and some were retreating into the residence. The homeowner was contacted and warned. He stated he would take care of the problem.
Drunken driving. Someone called to report loud and disturbing intoxicated people driving a lawn mower on the 101 Avenue NW. and Dogwood Street NW. An officer arrived and located a man driving the mower and a woman riding on the hood. The man was arrested for DWI and the mower was towed away.
SEPT. 24
Theft. Someone entered an open garage on the 2000 block of 123rd Lane NW., went into an unlocked vehicle parked in the garage and stole a purse.
SEPT. 25
Theft. Approximately 100 trailers were broken into at Hilltop Trailer Sales, 7810 University Av. NE. Several televisions and DVD players were taken.
SEPT. 27
Disorderly conduct. An officer was dispatched to Lifetime Fitness, 1200 E. Moore Lake Drive, about a man looking into a bathroom stall at a juvenile and attempting to touch him. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct/obscene.
SEPT. 18
Theft. A bike was stolen from the 2200 block of Dickens Lane.
SEPT. 22
Property damage. A road rage and criminal damage to property incident occurred on the 5500 block of Landmark Circle. An adult man was taken to detox.
SEPT. 27
Theft. Over the weekend, someone stole a potted plant and a handmade ornamental sign from a yard on the 2300 block of Hillview Road.
SEPT. 21
Weapons. Officers received a fireworks complaint at Silver Point Park on 29th Avenue NE. and Rozelle Road. Officers located a group of individuals lighting illegal fireworks on the basketball court. A 20-year-old man admitted to owning the bag of fireworks. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
Property damage. An employee from Culver's Restaurant, 4004 Silver Lake Road, called to report that all four entrance signs to the business were damaged. Estimated damage is $1,600.
Theft. Officers received a call to Cub Foods, 3930 Silver Lake Road, about a shoplifter. Store security had a 54-year-old man in custody for theft of merchandise valued at $32.98. The suspect was arrested and released with a citation.
