A pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles, neither of which stopped, Tuesday night on the border of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, eyewitnesses said the pedestrian was hit by two vehicles in the southbound lane of Hwy. 252 near 73rd Avenue N. a little before 7 p.m. The State Patrol is looking for a dark sedan and a red SUV or minivan that left the scene before authorities arrived.

The victim was declared dead at the scene, said Lt. Eric Roeske, spokesman for the State Patrol. The identity of the victim hasn't been released.

Roeske couldn't give any further details. The patrol and Brooklyn Park police were investigating how the incident occurred.

The road was dry and there didn't appear to be any road hazards at the time.
